 Philosophy of Ministry

The Music Ministry at Christ Church Westshore seeks to bring glory to God, and to bring the worshiping community into God’s glory. We are a body that focuses on Word and Sacrament.  Our music is part of that larger vision and seeks to usher the community into the worship and the glory of God.  Music ministry members are first and foremost worshippers who inspire by modeling right worship, and invite the people of Christ Church Westshore to join in corporate worship.

Who We Are

We are an ancient-modern church, using a blended music format.  It is not uncommon to hear chants, hymns, and modern music in the same service.  The music ministry provides music for the Sunday morning 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, along with other services as needed.  The ministry also works with various vocal groups and ensembles and assists with lector training and other arts when appropriate.

How to get Involved

There are many ways to serve in the music ministry.  We utilize vocalists and musicians through hymn leading, communion music, choir, offertories, and seasonal efforts during Lent, Easter, and Christmas.

The CCW Children’s Choir sings on Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday, with several weeks of rehearsal preceding the week that they sing.
