At Christ Church Westshore, we offer faith and learning for all ages and stages of life through our small group ministries, which we call Little Churches. This stems from the 1700’s when John Wesley, the great Anglican evangelist preacher had a structure within the Anglican Church, which became known as Methodist Groups. And we have adopted the method that they employed in our church.
These Little Churches are all based around the individuals interested in that particular Little Church with a common goal of studying scripture, breaking bread, and meeting needs in the community together. If you are a part of Christ Church, we ask you to be part of a Little Church, which is simply a subcategory of the greater church at large.
The Little Churches are so special because they help people come together with a similar interest or a similar area. They remind us that we are the church every day and help us help our communities.
Each of these subcategories appeals to different interests and concerns. Our Little Church communities are always growing!

Our Little Churches serve as “outposts” of our congregation where disciples meet regularly in their communities for fellowship, Bible study, and to tangibly serve their neighbors with acts of mercy.
We do not do good works to earn Salvation. The Bible clearly says it is by grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). Rather, we do good works to show the love of Christ to others. Martin Luther said it well: “God doesn't need your good works, but your neighbor does.” -Martin Luther, the Reformer
This means that when you are doing works of love and mercy, it’s not that you are earning your salvation. Rather, you are showing how Christ transformed you in your own life and you are extending that love, that transformative love, to someone else.
We encourage everyone to get involved in a Little Church. By doing so, you’ll regularly meet with like-minded people and get involved in the community around you. Little Churches put the things that we celebrate together, believe in, and acknowledge on Sunday into action throughout the rest of the week.
