KidCat and Nursery
What is KidCat?
KidCat is what we like to call kid's catechism at Christ Church Westshore! This is where we teach God's word through two curriculums.
- Nursery
- For our children in the Nursery, from newborn to 5 years old, we have chosen “The Storybook Bible” by Sally Lloyd-Jones.
- Older Children
- For our older children, from kindergarten to 5th grade, we have chosen the Gospel Project.
Both of these curriculums uphold God's word in a beautiful way, and they pull out the redemptive work of Christ from the beginning of the Bible to the end of the Bible, with Jesus being on every page.
We engage the children through games and fun lessons to build their relationships with God and with each other.
We come alongside the parents as allies and provide them with resources, encouragement, love, and prayer. We do this through the proclamation of God's word on Sunday and throughout the week in our Little Churches.
What Does KidCat Look Like?
Every morning, we start with an activity sheet and a question that focuses on the lesson of the day. While discussing the lesson, we get the children involved through games and movement.
We also have a missionary component when the children can see the impact of Christ all over the world through video.
And lastly, the children write in questions to the Pastor, who takes the time to answer and discuss those questions.
