So, you have doubt? Join the club! Doubt is a natural human experience, and we welcome all to join us to journey through our doubts and learn and live in Christ together!
From the Book of Jude: "Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life and have mercy on those who doubt."
What we're here to tell you today is that at Christ Church, we want to, though imperfectly, foster a culture that has mercy on understanding that doubt is a normal part of the human experience.
It's what we experience when there's kind of a disconnect between what we intellectually believe, what we heartfelt believe, and how we live.
We want to walk that journey with you and let you know that whatever that looks like for you, we're going to do our very best by the grace of God to have mercy on you, to walk through that journey alongside you.
As Pete says in 1 Peter 3:15: "But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect."
This is not something that will happen overnight, nor without community. Community is key here, and that we walk together asking questions, bringing our doubts to the table, and owning what we believe and why. So, therefore, we can flourish together.
There is a place for everyone at Christ Church! If you are interested in learning more, please continue to explore our website and contact us with any questions!
