What is Religion?
Welcome to Christ Church Westshore! If you have found yourself on this blog, you are probably wondering what religion is. Well, in our culture, religion can mean a lot of different things. The Bible tries to capture religion in this whole idea that we all worship something.
At Christ Church, we call on people to know what they believe and why they believe it.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
James 1:27
If the objective of Christian religion is to live for the Lord, then our religion is the practice of putting forth the effort that aligns our hearts, our minds, and our action into a comprehensive faith that brings us to a place of true rest in Christ, which comes through that journey of living, and thinking and loving after the things of Christ.
